• We assist students by uncovering their goals, passion and value to re-ignite into existing career. We have realised that every human being is always striving to be the best they can be, and at Vukamusha Foundation we help them fast track that process in order for them to reach their highest potential. • We understand that life can be confusing for learners and making career choice is daunting, in this fast paced society with numerous career options and the number of competitors in the job market it’s no wonder so many teenagers feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a career. Vukamusha Foundation’s Career Coaches helps students to overcome this anxiety and face their future with confidence.
Learn More• We recruit public speakers and connect them with schools and organisations, our speakers are diverse and multicultural group of individuals that are committed in making a difference in other people’s lives. We aim at leaving a legacy of change and hope to every audience our speakers interact with. Our mission is to motivate and inspire children and youth so that they reach their highest potential; we enable them to get the very best of out of life.
Learn More• Our main purpose is to help learners who are struggling with Physical Science, Mathematics and Accounting in the public schools. Currently South Africa is having an acute skills shortage in various industries due to learner’s poor performance in above mentioned learning areas. We have a panel of qualified teachers who are passionate about helping learners from previously disadvantaged communities to achieve quality results and reach their full potential. Our programme is designed for school’s senior phase (Grade 10 – 12). Our sessions are held from 15h00 to 17h00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays then 07h30 – 14h30 on Saturdays.
Learn More• There are various factors that play a role in the process of making a successful career choice. One of the first considerations is a realistic and informed subject choice for grade 10 to 12. In order to support learners in their subject choice process, we offer professional subject choice guidance to grade 9 learners. • This service consists of a psychometric assessment of personality, aptitude and interests, an individual feedback session, as well as a written report of the results and recommendations. Recommendations are made based on the learner's unique profile and could therefore include programmes at a variety of higher education institutions.
There has never been a time when careers guidance has been as important for young people as it is now. The landscape of education, training and employment opportunities that learners need to navigate is more complex and more challenging than that faced by previous generations. The raising of the age for participating in learning means that young people face a wider range of choices of courses and places to study. Learners need help to make choices and manage transitions; they need good quality careers education, information, advice and guidance.
• It is a platform whereby we give learners fundamental elements of living their lives with purpose and meaning. We use this programme to encourage learners to be responsible and take accountability; Our programme entails below elements: Self confidence Self-respect and towards others Interpersonal skills (empathy and compassion) Managing emotion Self responsibility (dependability, integrity) Positive attitude & self-motivation Team work Communication (listening, verbal & written) Creative thinking Decision Making
We organise and facilitate school holidays children’s camps; we identify children with behavioural challenges within the primary schools then take them to a 5 days leadership camp. • Our camps covers below aspects: Tackling social behavioural challenges Building leadership skills Engaging in a caring community Building self-esteem Expressing themselves through creative and performing arts Enhance their appreciation of natural surroundings and environmental conservation. Enhance their appreciation of diversity and respect for others.
• Financial literacy is a core life skill for participating in modern society; soon our beneficiaries will be learning to live independently as young adults, they will need to know how to budget and make wise financial choices for everyday living. We therefore empower and equip youth with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take charge of their lives and build a more secure future for themselves and their families.
• In addition to enrichment opportunities within class teaching and to ensure that learners are inspired to learn outside of the classroom and develop the skills required for the world beyond their primary education, we offer a wide range of awareness and learning programmes to learners in primary schools. Below is the list of elements covered by this programme: Personal hygiene awareness HIV and AIDS awareness Bullying in schools Children’s rights Teenage pregnancy Alcohol and substance abuse awareness Leadership skills Behavioural changes and Discipline
• One of the most effective ways we have to protect ourselves and others from illness is good personal hygiene. • We have since established a programme named “My Dignity”, whereby we collect dignity packs which consists of: roll-on, sanitary pads, tampons, menstruation cups, body spray, vaseline, body lotion, tooth brush, tooth paste and face cloth. And distribute them towards girls in previously disadvantaged communities.
• Reading is one of the key basic fundamentals that every child must have to further their studies; therefore we believe by promoting reading culture in our schools we will be eradicating high rate of illiteracy in our community. By teaching a child to read you are creating a smart, confident and enthuastic leader. • We encourage children to read, speak and listen attentively, make reading enjoyable and develop a culture of books into our children. • We aim to make our future leaders understand that knowledge is power; therefore in order to possess that power, one needs to enrich their minds through reading and learning.
• Empowering women and girls and achieving gender equality are crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies. Gender inequalities, however, persist in many countries so it is important that we find new ways of addressing this issue. We contribute to this agenda by creating opportunities for dialogue to influence policies that benefit women and girls; work with partners to promote access and opportunity for women and girls and build the skills and confidence of women and girls to achieve their potential and have more influence over decisions that affect their lives. • Therefore our programme reduces girls and women vulnerability and increases their opportunities.
• Food security is crucial for all the communities around the world; by educating learners to increase their food security we will be playing a crucial part in transforming the lives of countless people by lifting them out of dependence on others. • We equip learners with the skills, tools and seeds to produce life-sustaining crops through school vegetables gardens. After being trained in agronomy, all the learners in the program are now growing their own crops that are producing food that supplies their families and helps sustain our children’s feeding efforts.
• We train and equip out of school youth (Post Matric) with basic customer service skills, basic computer skills and work environment ethics so that they can be employable.
• Informal settlements are typically comprised of economically depressed or migrant people living in crowded settlements, with or without legal rights to the land they live upon. Often the settlements are at risk of flooding, earth movements and fires that pose significant lethal risk to residents. While being prone to these disasters, many communities also lack basic sanitation, water and electricity services and rapid emergency response access. • We train and equip youth out of school in informal settlements with basic first aid and fire fighting skills, so that they can become safety representatives in case of emergency within their communities.
• This skills development programme offers the potential for existing entrepreneurs to capitalise on opportunities to start and grow sustainable businesses that form part of the mainstream economy. The learning will enable the delegates to tender for business opportunities within both the public and private sectors. • A lack of entrepreneurial skills is often associated with the high failure rate in existing small businesses, therefore our skills development programme consists of a series of workshops on a variety of modules that help entrepreneurs make better business decisions to run their businesses more profitably and more sustainably.
